Create Wonderous No Salt Snacks

When you are trying to keep your sodium intake low, Grissol Melba Toast No Salt is great for snacks. There are lots of things you can top it with for a quick healthy, salt free snack.

There are very few processed foods available that have no added salt but there is one that I am quite happy I found, Grissol Melba Toast No Salt.  This is a very simple cracker, that has the shape and texture of bread it has been dried from.  It is crisp and crunchy and even has the little holes that bread sometimes does. 

Grissol Melba Toast No salt is extremely dry with just a hint of the yeasty bread taste so is not something that should be eaten on its own. Pile on the dips and spreads, the fruit and veggies; it is just waiting to be the base of a spectacular snack without adding additional salt to your diet.

Even though the toasts are dry and hard, they do crack and break easily. I find this helpful sometimes as it makes the whole process of eating them a bit more manageable. If you want them whole, take care spreading and make sure you have the toast on a solid surface when you spread on a topping so it doesn’t break the toast. What I especially like is they are something you can take with you on the road or keep in your desk. It is best to store the toasts in a plastic container with a tight fitting lid to prevent them from being broken or crushed.

Grissol Melba Toast No salt makes a great base to to add your favourite no salt toppings. Some snack ideas include:

  • Nut butter with sliced pears
  • Peanut butter and Banana
  • Sliced chicken with avocado slices
  • Hummus with sliced grape tomatoes
  • Mashed avocado and diced tomatoes
  • Apple Butter and Walnuts
